Vegan taco sauce w/ walnuts

Yum yum yum in ma tum tum! Who doesn’t love tacos? Especially if they are cruelty free and full of healthy fats! This taco sauce recipe is mixed in with walnuts as a meat substitute. It has a little crunch and is full of poppin flavors! Add in all your favorite taco toppings (lettuce, beans, tomatoes, cilantro, lime, hot sauce, and vegan cheese if you have it!).



  • 1/4 cup tomato puree

  • 3 tbsp coconut sugar

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

  • 1 white onion, diced

  • 6-9 garlic cloves

  • 1 tbsp cumin

  • 1 tbsp dried oregano

  • 2 tbsp lime juice

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tsp sea salt (more to taste)

  • 2 tsp black pepper (more to taste)

  • 2-3 tbsp water

  • 1 1/2 cups walnuts


  1. Blend all ingredients in a blender (besides walnuts)

  2. Heat sauce on the stove over medium low heat, add in walnuts.

  3. Serve hot with all of your favorite taco toppings!
