So what is this weird powder stuff called spirulina? Well, it's one of the most nutrient dense super foods on the planet. It is a natural algae powder that is a great source of protein, antioxidants, B-vitamins, and other essential vitamins. It truly is magical and so easy to incorporate into your smoothies! Step outside of your comfort zone and give it a try :)

 

Recipe

smoothie base:

  • 2-3 frozen bananas
  • 1 tbsp tahini
  • 2 dates
  • nut milk
  • 1 tsp spirulina

TOppings:

  • Nuts
  • Almond butter
  • Chia seeds
  • Coconut flakes
  • 100% dark cacao squares

 

Directions

1. Add all smoothie ingredients to a high speed blender. Try to use as little nut milk as possible (you can always add more). Blend until creamy and smooth like ice cream. This will take a little patience, you will have to stop the blender several times and mix it up with a spatula.

2. Once you have gotten your ice cream-like consistency, its all ready! Just add all of your toppings and fuel your body for the day!
